In going along with Scarlett & Charlies post here is what I came up with from the 70s! Blood - Close friend, a variation on Brother or Bro. Bread - Money. Brother - Can mean both a black man, or as a term of endearment among male African-Americans. CB Radio Slang - CB radios were a big fad in the 70s and some people adopted the language of CB radios into their everyday vernacular. Chévere - (Caribbean slang) Cool, awesome. This term is used mostly by Puerto Ricans and Dominicans. (see Copacetic. -City - A suffix used to indicate a lot, usually of something positive. Example: Ever since I found that new connection I been living in weed-city. (See also, Fat City) Copacetic - Cool or satisfacory. Usually, Everythings copacetic Crazy - An expression of thinking something is hip or cool. Not as in that is crazy, but more like, Crazy, man. . .Crazy. .. (See Far-Out) Do Me A Solid - A solid is a favor. Far Out - An expression of thinking something is hip or cool. Fat-City - Living the good life. Foxy or Fox - An attractive woman (occasionally used by women in reference to men). Fruit or Fruity - A gay man or something/someone appearing queer. Its Casual - Everything is alright or cool, used to reassure someone that their behavior is okay. Think of it as the 70s version of Its all good. Jive Turkey - Someone who is full of it, or a phoney. Keep On Truckin - Keep on doing what youve been doing. Dont stop being you. Lets Boogie - Lets get out of here or leave this place Man - A way to refer to any guy, (see Dude). Pad - The place where one lives; usually an apartment. Right On! - Impassioned agreement Say What? - What are you talking about? Slap Me Some Skin - Give me a five, man. Split - To leave The Rabbit Died - A way of stating someone is pregnant. Thats Sick! - A Midwestern phrase in the late 70s. To describe something odd or unusual. Not necessarily an person or object of distaste, but something suspect but also intriguing. Sick! Threads - Clothing What it is? What it is? - The phrase what it is? repeated twice meant, whats going on? or how are you? Youngblood - It means young man/young boy
