In high school I had a Honda Prelude that was created the same year I was born. It was a vehicle that refused to die. Hondas are like that it seems. They dont look fancy, have many gadgets, or seem impressive but 300,000 miles later and they still run. My Prelude was red, had a sun roof, was a manual, and had multiple air vents throughout the vehicle-created by rust. It was very cold in winter and in high school I took both high school and college classes so I had to drive about a hour into school one way daily. To stay warm, I would put on so many coats that I looked like a marshmallow. Eventually my air vents multiplied like the Borg. They assimilated my muffler. So my car became loud. I actually drove 4 hours once with a cassette tape and head phones to ignore it. Finally got within a mile of Meggan Molloys house only to be pulled over by the local sheriff. He had me step out of my vehicle only to make fun of my car. Even called his buddy over to have a good laugh at all that was wrong with the picture he saw. He told me I should fix that. I told him I wasnt handy and that he should call my dad, Greg Veit, who does all my car maintenance because I agreed but doubted it was going to happen-if he could talk him into that to please also convince him I needed a heater and better air conditioning than my manual windows and sun roof. Alas, the car was never fixed and my wonderful father gave me a much sturdier vehicle as my graduation present before heading to ISU. I will say this -that vehicle taught me to drive stick, got me where I needed to go, only cost $20 to fill up at the gas station (this was before 9/11), and was a good idea for learning to drive on gravel. #myWorstCar
