In honor of Allied Health Professionals Week, we are sharing three stories submitted by current students who also work or worked in the allied health field, regarding their most memorable moments. The following story is shared by Gina: My most memorable moment as an allied health professional was: As a hospice nurse. I cared for a gentleman, who had metastatic bone cancer. His diagnosis was late in the disease process. His last wish was to see his son, who was serving in Afghanistan. We were uncertain if the son would make it home in time so, we helped him video his message of love. Unfortunately, his son didn’t make it home in time to see his father before he died but the loving, heartfelt appreciation we felt after giving the son the video, will never be forgotten.
