In just a few moments, 6 KSP families and KSP staff members will be headed back to Atlanta. Returning from a trip to be remembered for many years to come. Our rising 1st and 2nd grade scholars snorkled in the deep waters of the Icacos Island - Fajardo, Puerto Rico where they saw native fish navigate coral reefs. They walked the foot steps of history of soldiers at the Castillo San Felipe del Morro in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and also learned about about giving back during their volunteer experience at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in San Juan. Lastly, what better way to learn about the culture of Puerto Rico than through food! From flan to stewed chicken to rice and beans and plantains - the flavors of PR did not disappoint. About One World. One Heart. Global Citizenship Experience Program The purpose of our KIPP STRIVE Primary School One World. One Heart. Global Citizenship Experience is to encourage thinking outside of the classroom. As we prepare our scholars to make the world a better place, we believe that it is important to nurture a global perspective as early as kindergarten. Our ultimate aim is that our scholars will discover that our brothers and sisters across the globe are more alike than different, and that to truly take their places as leaders, they will need to embrace the interconnectedness of human beings throughout our world. See just a few pictures from our trip here!
