In keeping with Roberts earlier post about women travelling alone - TopicsExpress

In keeping with Roberts earlier post about women travelling alone on the Camino, does anyone have good advice for how to allay the fears of concerned family members? Ive travelled alone in Europe before, and am more confident about being safe on the Camino than with any of my prior journeys. However, Im starting to get a lot of anxious comments from my mother and grandmother, who are both beside themselves with fear for my safety. Actually, this is an understatement - Im afraid one or both of them will stress themselves into a heart attack by the time I leave in October if this kind of behavior persists. Ive shown them stats, but its not good enough. Its not like Im a baby - Im 33, so I left the nest long ago - but theyre stressing me out with all of the gloom and doom. Id love to hear from other people who found a way to ease their loved ones irrational fears about this. (Avoiding my family for the next 10 months probably wont work, lol.)
