In keeping with the predictable tragic cycle, Gaza is now due for reconstruction. It would require billions. Who knows when next the IDF will assault the region and slaughter and displace millions of people? The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon alluded to this on Sunday at a donor conference, held in Cairo, to rebuild Gaza – the world’s largest open-air prison that’s also used by Binyamin Netanyahu’s government as its laboratory. Echoing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Ban told the donors that “the cycle of building and destroying must end,” adding the people of the subjugated people of Gaza were “bruised” and that “enough is enough.”
