In life, no matter how much we try to rise above the minutiae, there will always be those who try to tear us down. In fact, through spiritual growth, you sometimes begin to realize the most toxic elements in your life are those closest to you, the ones you have sacrificed everything for. Then, you find yourself faced with a trio of choices... 1) Do you embrace negativity and allow yourself to become mired in said minutiae and be transformed into the bastard they seem to enjoy pretending you already are? 2) Do you follow the path of spiritual awakening and distance yourself from the toxicity in your life, even if it means walking away from everything you have dedicated every fiber of your being to for as long as you can remember? or 3) Do nothing and let the toxins continue to slowly erode your soul and flake away what little remains of you until you fall into a pit of depression and self-pity that will drown any remaining spark of life left within you? What would you do?
