In light of recent deplorable events -- one of our fellow students - TopicsExpress

In light of recent deplorable events -- one of our fellow students Facebook profile was hacked yesterday by the so-called UChicago Electronic Army, and racial slurs and direct threats to specific students (who are incredibly brave in their open fight for social justice) were posted on said profile --, it is more urgent than ever to ask the University of Chicago administration to take bold action against discrimination on our campus. Our very lack of a trauma center, the systematic racial profiling of members of our community and workers of the University by the UCPD (please watch: https://youtube/watch?v=Aqd9GFlDcA4), the racially insensitive - to say the least - themed-parties at some fraternities that went on without any real consequences, the racial and homophobic slurs directed last year towards the post office worker (again, without any real consequences for the perpetrators), etc., all add up to constitute a space where lots of students feel disrespected, unsafe, and unprotected by the administration. Please, friends, sign the petition below to demand the University administration to take bold action against discrimination. Share, repost, talk to your friends and colleagues. The situation is quite alarming. https://change.org/p/the-administrative-and-academic-leadership-of-the-university-of-chicago-take-bold-action-against-racial-and-ethnic-discrimination-at-uchicago
