In light of the Jimmy V classic, I am posting this speech he gave in 1987. If there are people out there who dont know Jimmy Valvano, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Valvano. Read about him. He started the Jimmy V foundation with the help of ESPN to help fund cancer research. In the 50 min speech, he talks about how you should know where you grew up/your past, know where you are at, and most of all know that you are going to get where you want to go. He talks about enthusiasm and how it keeps you in the mentality to get to your destination. How every moment is different from the last and every failure is a learning point. Although his famous words are in his ESPYS speech: To me there are three things we should do everyday. Number one is laugh. You should laugh everyday. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three, you should have your emotions move to tears; could be happy or joy. Think about it, if you laugh, you think, you cry, thats a full day. Thats a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, your gonna have something special. This speech was the quickest 50 min of my life. It was almost like a comedy routine.
