In light of the deaths of Tamir Rice and Tanesha Anderson, and the latest injustice done to the family of Michael Brown, it has been a rough few weeks. Of course, I cant fully imagine the hurt felt by the families and friends of these individuals, nor those in the black community as a whole. If you find yourself, like me, lucky enough to not have to confront systematic oppression and violence on a daily basis - look to your neighbors, your coworkers, your childrens teachers, the government employees, service industry workers, healthcare workers, and trade-workers on whom you rely. Reach out, listen, try to understand, and share their struggle. We must break the illusion that racial bigotry has ended, the illusion that this system of law is not built by racist design, and the illusion that capitalism breeds anything but fatigue and ignorance.
