In light of the recent announcement of his collaborating with Sunn O))), and the large number of posts about interesting music, heres Scott Walker for anyone who doesnt already know him. Teen Idol in the 60s, whose Band, The Walker Brothers (none of whom were named Walker and who werent Brothers) at one point were outselling the Beatles and who Hendrix opened for. Then he became obesessed with Jacques Brel, and later, after fulfilling contractual obligations for albums of songs from films and stuff just disappeared, to make a comeback ten years later with the left-field Climate of Hunter, the lead single from which was simply called Track 3 (there was also a similar Walker Brothers comeback record a bit earlier called Nite Flights, the design for which was done by Hypgnosis, the design company that Peter Sleazy Christopherson, of Coil fame, worked for). Then he disappeared for another decade, released Tilt, an even stranger record, in the 90s, and then did the same before returning with The Drift. Lately hes been releasing more prolifically, breaking the one album a decade pattern. In short, he rules. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Walker_(singer)
