In light of the recent return of the haze, Minister Vivian Balakrishnan welcomes the Indonesian Parliament’s decision to ratify the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution (AATHP) that was first signed in 2002. Transboundary haze pollution has been plaguing our region for decades. There is an urgent need for effective action at the source, including deterrence, investigation and enforcement against errant companies responsible for the haze.
