In line boarding my flight last night in Orlando. African American - TopicsExpress

In line boarding my flight last night in Orlando. African American man, white, tall woman in front of me between us. Nothing noteworthy really. Woman has a bag of Lush bathroom products. My daughter sold them at the mall is why I know about them. All natural, no animal testing, as organic as possible, little label with a cartoon caricature of the person who made the batch, etc. Completely iconic of the liberal, progressive, or post modern consumer. The three of us are joking around - more than civil. Its cold for Florida. She pulls on a sweatshirt. I can see the back - he cant. Its an Ole Miss shirt with the silhouette of father and son at the fishing hole and ... The Stars and Bars. So whack. Might as well have been a swastika given the actual history. Maybe not a racist thought in her head. Nothing in her words or posture or demeanor or voice. She may be totally oblivious to the potential interpretation or inference. I just cant tell. What does a shirt say about its wearer really?
