In looking back at 2014, Project Terrapin had a productive year and would like to thank Jessica, Megan, Emily, Kate. Kayla, and Sarah for volunteering with field research this past year. We also had a number of MATES students helping out. Below are some highlights from 2014 as we wish everyone a Happy New Year... - Project Terrapin students working to protect terrapins in NJ - Continued research (13 yrs.) on nesting terrapins at N. Sedge Island - Our pilot trapping session at Berkeley, New Jersey - Our head-start hatchling program with dedicated teachers and students - Over 6000 people (mostly students) reached with our public programs for schools and events - Our new terrapin sighting program for Barnegat Bay (more to follow) - Over 2000 volunteer hours by our awesome Project Terrapin members! - Aqua Kids and their focus on Barnegat Bay this past summer - Island Beach State Park, NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, Conserve Wildlife, MATES, and Save Barnegat Bay and their continued support
