In looking back at my last 3 days, what a crazy range of emotions I have experienced. Friday, I was lucky enough to join some fabulous ladies for the Queen for a Day Fashion Show for the Queen of the Valley Hospital and model some spectacular outfits by the Mustard Seed, one of my downtown merchants. Nervous girl I was, but had fun and cant wait to do it next year! Thanks Barbara Wiggins you ROCK!!!!!!! Then straight to a Celebration of Life for a young man with a future ahead of him and lost too young. Saw some very dear old friends which made my heart smile. Oh how Ive missed so many of you people in my life, Robby, Cory Deanna Jerri Ann Larri Ann Regina Heather Lisa ........and Tim Jody Ann, my heart is with you especially and all your family. Then all my hard work and long hours were presented in our 6th Annual Blues Brews & BBQ on Saturday; a huge event in downtown Napa! We rocked it out thanks to my amazing crew, Nikki, Danyel, Mara, Erica, Kristin, Marcy, Andrea, Christina, Rose, Angie, La, Jennifer, Krystal and my new crew Manager Timmy! We had a great event with lots of happy people! Then after a very long day and about 1-1\2 hours of sleep, our little downtown Napa was hit hard by a 6.0 earthquake. I have never been so damn scared in my life. I am so thankful we had Andrea here with us instead of alone at her house and also Timmy too. Our 1893 Victorian home in Old Town Napa was a disaster inside. Running down my stairs in complete darkness and walking through glass, water and pieces of furniture blocked in every way, we made it outside to safety. Checking in with surrounding neighbors and making sure everyone was ok, we were trying to realize what just happened. Then walking downtown yesterday morning and seeing the devastation of MY Downtown was so frightening and sad. These merchants have been through so much and now this. Almost every single window was broken out of every business, pieces of historic buildings torn off and laying crumbled around the street, frightened business owners standing around their blocked off stores and feeling completely helpless. And all I kept thinking was thank God this didnt happen during my event just the day before when we had thousands of people crowded in the streets here. I feel so thankful for that. It could have been much worse! Then here it is. The help and way about this community and my friends. The countless people reaching out to help and checking in on us. We left our disaster stricken house and went to Jax to clean up and put it back together. I walked around and checked in with merchants and made sure everyone was safe. Gave them hugs and told them we will get through this. Lots of damage & lots of devastation for these small business owners. Then off to try and clean our house. We had no power and we have no hot water but our friends showed up, they helped, we ate and tried to calm our nerves by being together. Thats what I needed last night to try and get calm enough to go to bed last night. Poor Sophia was scared and cried when she came home to us yesterday and I just reassured her that this can all be fixed and the most important thing was we are all ok. It puts things in perspective when there are tragedies and then you see people coming together and its such a beautiful thing. Thank you Janet & Jose for always being there for us and helping clean our big mess in the house. Erica and Joel, you guys ROCK and can always be counted on and my girl Andrea, thanks for being such a terrific friend! And Timmy you helped us out this whole week with Sophia and everything, you are amazing!! To my family members who took the time to call & check in & offer help & support, I appreciate you. It will be interesting in the coming days & weeks to see how our community comes together and put all the pieces into place, cause thats what we do, were NAPA!!!! Love to you all and thank you!!!!!!!
