In many African traditions, Ghana in particular, we religiously - TopicsExpress

In many African traditions, Ghana in particular, we religiously and culturally celebrate the whole week as Christmas with annual funeral anniversaries, Church Harvests, exchanges of gifts joyful music, dancing and sumptuous meals until after New Year celebration is climaxed after Mid-night on January 1st next year. Most of these celebrations involve whole families and even the whole communities in the respective villge, town or city. We reflect on the happiness and sadness we encountered during the year to give us hope for next year. This is why the two videos that I have posted below show the practicality of life, full of joyful music from Ivory Coast. Incidentally, the two videos show the underlying causes of the neglect of children in many countrysides of Africa. Pictures speak louder than words. The introduction of the first video shows the Jihardists coming into a village to open a school to indoctrinate our children with Islam without giving them proper education. The lyrics are in the local language but would give a meaning of the song by just watching the musical artiste and the dancers. Those of who understand little French may also understand the song since the lyrics are mixed with some French. This is another sophistication shown by our African talented musicians in many African countries. These two videos also show the joy the African musicians bring to their people in exposing the inefficiencies of their Governments and their hypocrisies. African intellectuals who benefit from the flawed policies of their respective Governments on the other hand, write to benefit the corrupted leaders and their flawed policies by just blaming everthing on Colonialism and Western influence as if these leaders donot owe any responsibilities to their own respective citizens with international leaders and the media aslso muted on this irrational logic of. and flawed policies give these selfish blaming the outside forces. In the past the sophistication of African music was not known to outsiders, but since pictures speak louder than words, the African musical videos on the Youtube in the recent years are beginning to expose the realities of African lives and the political rhetoric. Enjoy the Christmas celebration by dancing to the music if you can. :-) 1.https://youtube/watch?v=yDQOH2J5Ij0 This shows the joy of a family whose children are bringing presents to them during Christmas. 2. https://youtube/watch?v=vmaAig3EKyg
