In many debates I have recently seen people using the term straw man (yes it is two words). Roughly, it is defined as a logical fallacy, which means that if you carefully dissect the argument or statement, it doesnt make sense.... However, I see people often using this term incorrectly so I wanted to clarify what it means. Throwing out that term when you dont agree with something someone says isnt enough, you need to prove WHY its a fallacy.
