In many ways the easiest and best way of governing has been out of reach for most global public figures. The best way to make decisions, on balance, is to drain ideology from ones thought process when it comes to making decisions on policies. If, for example, a controversial political issue was to be put forth in a governing body, the first reaction to this issue would be to go with political instinct or principles; the second reaction would be to consider all of the ideas available to that public figure and put forth a set of options so that the greatest number of the electorate will be pleased enough to reelect as many like minded colleagues to that governing body. Principles can indeed be fought for, but setting aside differences on hot button issues would be the most prudent course of action. If someone were shape an agenda based on one single divisive yet tempting issue to the electorate for an advancement of that agenda over the long haul could be proved to be detrimental come election time. Political agendas are broad based and a sweeping set of ideas that can change the minds of most voters. It is highly unlikely that most public figures elected understand the scope of agendas; it can therefore be said that controversial laws within the agenda divide public figures and no resolution to those laws can be reached. What is disheartening to many voters is that most bills regarding topics that are in need of further discussion are usually left in committees or are slowed due to procedural measures until a majority of representatives or parliamentarians are willing to go along with crucial parts of the agenda.
