In memory of Doug Fadness (1954-2014): A tribute to a life well lived! Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants. ~ Psalm 116:15 His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Masters happiness! ~ Matthew 25:23 Tomorrow we will lay to rest a spiritual giant in our book. A true servant! Although he was just a man, he was a man that allowed God to transform his life, and be used to transform other lives, including ours! He was Dave & Is first spiritual mentor, and we can honestly say our lives are different because of him. Doug & Bev spent time, love & energy investing into Dave & I, and Im sure a lot of prayers were sown as well. They faithfully passed the baton of faith on to us (and countless others), and not only taught, but showed us how to follow the Lord. Their spiritual legacy lives on in & through us, as we now pass the baton of faith on to others. Although we were all caught a little off guard, we know the Lord planned the moment He would call Doug home long ago.... Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. ~ Psalm 139:16, and according to Psalm 116 above, God looked forward to that moment when He would be reunited with His faithful servant! I can close my eyes and imagine Doug with his Lord, a moment he waited & lived his life for, and it is absolutely beautiful! There is no doubt the first thing he heard was, Well done, good & faithful servant! It is Gods promises & precious memories that will bring peace, comfort & joy in the midst of sorrow. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in and through many. Precious, priceless treasures are stored in our hearts, and we look forward to the day we will see him again.
