In most cases when your favorite NFL team lost a game in the last - TopicsExpress

In most cases when your favorite NFL team lost a game in the last 30 second to a team they were supposed to beat by three touchdowns it is a bad day! Well that happened to me this past Sunday, but it still turned out to be pretty special. As many of you know, had my life worked out like I planned Monday would have been my 24th wedding anniversary, and my son Seans 20th Birthday. But just like the Steeer game went terribly wrong sometimes life does as well. My family was torn apart by divorce, I became very ill and learned I was in stage four chronic kidney failure, and life became one disasterous moment after another. The loss of a my career, Foreclosure, no health insurance… Just like the Steelers it was one fifteen yard penalty after another. Even though I seemed to overcome those terrible moments, it was one last two minute drive against me that just about knocked me out for good. You see in the past two years my ex wife and I really began to have a great divorced relationship. We connected realizing that life happens but that we were so blessed with six wonderful kids. This time last year we even celebrated Edinboros homecoming together with all of our old friends. On top of that our oldest son was on the team and even blocked a field goal. Time may have been running out but it looked like we would hold on for the win. Then just a few weeks after homecoming came the news from a doctors that the mother of my children who was back in our lives, had a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor. On September 9th of this year with all six kids at her bedside, she passed away. I had life back in control and just like that it happend again this time with no chance for one more game winnning drive of my own. But just like the Steelers are a mess and are trying to figure out how to get back on track so are the kids and I as we battle life everyday. But the one thing the The Pittsburgh Steelers have, even in the worst of times is all of their fans the City of Pittsburgh, and even some fans who travel hundreds of miles once a year just to be a part of a Steeler Sunday. Two of those traveling fans were the highlight of my week maybe my month. As I was heading towards the goalline where the Steelers were about to score I looked up and saw a man and a woman, one in a white 34 Mendenhall jersey and the other in a number 68 Kemoeatu jersey. At first I thought they were dressed as Andy Russell and L.C. Greenwood, two of the key Steelers from my days growing up in Pittsburgh when we won Superbowls every year. Then I noticed the man was asking the young lady if she would be his wife. She said yes, and instead of shooting the field my camera was stuck pointed at them. I knew this was the weeeknd of what would have been my wedding anniversary, and all I could think was how lucky they were. Not only did he bring her from Illinois to pop the question but he was willing to do it in front of Steeler nation. As the crowd cheered them on, they kissed, I turned back to the field and Antonio Brown made a specatucular touchdown catch. I was so moved and actually had tears in my eyes that I slipped them a note because I wanted to share my photos of their moment with them. I asked them to message me, and also to share their story with me. I wanted to know who they were, so I could say a prayer that their future is full of many Children, at least 50 Anniversarys, and yes even a few more Steeler Superbowl Rings, to go along with the un-real ring he placed on her finger.(He must have gone to JARED!) I also hope they know that when things seem their worst they should always count on those who support their team. My children and I have learned that we are part of the greatest team on earth, that team is our family and our community. Even when all hope was lost they have been there to pick us up! Marie Brumbaugh and Scott Burton were so kind to text me that they thought I was sweet for capturing their moment. The truth is they made a moment for me that gave me reason to smile even though the Kansas City Chiefs threw a last second touchdown to beat my Steelers. Marie Brumbaugh, I hope its okay that I close this post by sharing your email with all my followers. Becuase I would like them all to send out a wish for you and your soon to be husband for a long long happy life together. Maybe at your reception you can have your band or D.J. play one song for all the folks in Erie, PA and Steeler nation. If I might make a request maybe it can be the Steeler Polka! God Bless hope we get to meet again. I close with the email from Marie about who the great folks in the photos below are and why they made last Sunday a win even though our team lost! So Ive (Marie) grown up in Bloomington Illinois my whole life. Scott was born in Bloomington and has lived in Bloomington for 16 years. Before that he lived in Broken Arrow Oklahoma. We have been dating since august 20, 2004. My dad is originally from Pittsburgh ( Duquesne, West Mifflin). Ive grown up in a Steelers house and naturally became a fan. Scott being from Illinois is a bears fan but steelers is his second team. He knows its been a dream of mine for him to propose to me at Heinz Field. I LOVE Pittsburgh and cherish my limited time I get to spend to here! Even though they lost today, it was still and always will be a AWESOME experience! Thank you again for taking those pictures and sending them to me! It means a lot to me! Sincerely Marie Brumbaugh and Scott Burton
