In my 30 yrs as an actor, Ive had dozens of acting teachers--starting in grade school, through university, TWO conservatories, and ending at one of the top 3 Hollywood film acting coaches (hell, Ive even TAUGHT acting at New York Film Academy - Los Angeles, California) The last was a man who threw chairs, shoes, yelled at us and pitched fits--and he was one of the best teachers I ever had. He taught me that if I wasnt scared by the choices Ive made--even if walking across the room to answer the phone--I wasnt going deep enough, he taught me that daring was the greatest attribute a film actor can have, but that it cant be faked, it had to be finely honed, or it was just attitude. He taught me more about taking risks, making mistakes, and F**KING S**T UP. Dont ask me his name, as he is not teaching anymore. Lets just say, he is notorious right now--whether true or untrue--but the man was, and always will be a rockstar. History, and unfortunately a court of Law, will decide famous or infamous. Either way I am grateful for the edges he pushed me to, and if youre not living on the edge, youre taking up too much space--anon.
