In my childhood, I was taught that my Arabism is my honor, my pride and my address. In my childhood, I was singing with my friends, All arab countries are my home, all arabs are my brothers & sisters. We drew a picture of the arab as a comrade, a partner and a person who has the same fight and the same cause. The image of an arab drawn in our minds was a hero confronting the storms with his bare chest, a fighter with scary looks; someone who is generous,determined, brave,charming, strong, smart, forgiving, creative and loyal. We were children moved by our feelings and effected by tales telling our arabic heroism, We were effected by the tales telling us that our home is where arabs are and we were effected by tales telling us that all our wars were for Al-aqsa. We were effected by tales telling us that one day our arab armies will flood to palestine and fight for the arab dignity. I used to be an arab. I used to be an Egyptian, a saudi, a moroccan, an algerian, a yemeni, a Qatari, Bahraini, a syrian, a Sudani and a Somalian, I used to be lebanies and jordanian.. I used to be a kurdish, a Shiaa, a sunni, alawi, dorzi, a jew and a christian.. I do not memorize the names of the things I were.. I am sick of our division while the whole world is uniting, youve filled our minds with lies and forgery and told us arabs are our brothers and sisters. Palestine is occupied and no one cares, Arab leaders collaborate with the occupier. Syria got destroyed by a war run by international and arab powers, Egypt is controled by ignorance, Libya is being devided, Qatar doesnt care and Saudies are busy drinking oil for breakfast.. I want to keep the image which was drawn in my mind for an arab,, I want to be that arab which i have learned about in my childhood but I dont see him any more, He doesnt exist.. I am not an arab any more.. I am just a palestinian.
