In my diary, I have a small photo of myself. When I take a look of the photo, I often remember the happiness of my childhood, as I am an ordinary teenager born and bred in Hong Kong. On the outside, I am just a typical form six student waiting for the challenge of the DSE, but in inside, I am a boy who loves to help the needy (For those who visually impaired). Though it is a tough job especially I need to guide them when they leave the school area, after two years of helping, it allows me to learn a lesson---“helping people, not only benefit others, but you”. Time flies, and now I am a science student which taking Combine Chemistry, Combine Physics, Biology and Geography as me electives. I would definitely strive for the best in the public exam and university, in the hope to have contribution Recalling my secondary school life, one of the highlights at school is that my Combine Chemistry result had shown the improvement. For two years, after my tremendous effort, I can now able to score the highest in class and this is a new break through for me personally. This can help me to think again should or shouldn’t I choose science in the university. About three years ago, I was confused and puzzled whether science subjects were suitable for me to study as they seemed to be complicated and difficult to remember the terms. At the time, due to the guidance and assistance from a big brother at school, I started to “fall in love” with the science subject as the big brother said to me that whenever you gave effort in it, you would find it easy and interesting to learn. At the end, I had chosen to study science subject. Form four, the first year after my decision to study in a science class. It was tough for me at the beginning as the first thing to do in class was having a test, reversing what things I learnt last year. But after the test, I realized that science subjects were something that was extremely interesting and I could feel a sense of success after finishing a difficult question. Until now, I still think that science is fun to learn. Those subjects have widened my knowledge and horizons, also, enable me to further investigate everything in our surroundings. In short, as I am interested in science subjects, I would like to make a significant contribution to the community through the study of science. Thanks to my teacher’s unconditional support and guidance, I have achieved a decent academic performance in Combine Chemistry and Combine Physic. In form five, I did not show satisfactory result performance in Maths. Formulates were the things that I usually messed up, due to unfamiliarity with the theories behind. I used to give up but because of my determination, I refused to give up and trust my own abilities. Whenever I found weakness, I would ask my teacher to teach me again and use positive attitude to deal with the difficulties. Not only that, I also spent the rest of the time after school reading extra amount of books and do more exam practice. My determination and hard work steered me to go form strength to strength. My school not only encourages students to pursue academic excellence, but also an all-round development. Throughout the years, I have engaged in numerous roles, such as monitor and class representatives. Because of the roles that I have engaged, this had strengthened my leadership skills, as I am the one to control the condition of my class. In addition, I built up my patience, an essential quality when getting along with my classmates. I look forward to embarking on the next stage of my journey of education, where hopefully I could make a significant contribution and bring positive influence to society in the near future.
