In my earlier post regarding the events in Paris I discussed a common paradigm in which an imminent threat is wantonly shepherded. On other platforms it was suggested — somewhat forcefully — that I was implying a conspiracy theory. Not to split hairs about the fact that there WAS a conspiracy that was actually executed...I was really bearing down on a more problematic observation. Here is yet another instance in which a vast amount of detail about these brothers is gathered through classified means. However, seemingly declassified, made immediately available for media dissemination and available for audience consumption. Why the secrecy veil lifted so suddenly before the suspects were even found? This begs the question: why the intense manhunt AFTER the assault and not before? With France participating with the US in measures like extreme rendition, the authorities neednt wait for an attack to occur to take custody of conspirators — even when a specific conspiracy has not been laid. This gets to the heart of a recurring theme that attacks that actually happen are never prevented, despite the intelligence that has been gathered about the specific perpetrators. We are always hearing of nebulous attacks that have been thwarted, while hearing also of the advance intelligence that was gathered about perpetrators who are successful in carrying out an attack. There is something sinister about not preventing an attack by known radicals. It is even more sinister when the various agencies gush about how much intelligence they had been gathering on the perps, despite neglecting to take them into custody, as they have the overwhelming authority to do.
