In my job, I have the privilege of working with a lot of great kids. But every now and then, one comes along that is just a bit different. One who takes a little more thought and effort. One who makes me feel an incredible sense of urgency and responsibility. I have a student (well call him K) who is one such kid. He is bright, funny, smart, articulate, with a bright future ahead of him. He has passed every requirement for graduation... Except passing the English end-of-course exams. He cant spell well at all. He knows this and will tell you that. Yet he hasnt given up. Today we put a technology in place that is his last chance. The difference between graduating with a diploma or completing high school with a certificate. Would you do me a favor? Please get behind K. Say a prayer, send him happy thoughts, do whatever it is that you can do to lift him up. I want so badly for this kid to see that his hard work will pay off. That his time in school hasnt been for nothing. Tomorrow is my birthday. I want nothing more but for K to pass these tests. So as a birthday gift to me, please say that prayer. Thanks, friends.
