In my last home, because of the angles of the buildings, the sun did not shine in for nearly six weeks - this was terribly depressing, considering I had moved there from the country and a home, tho cold, that had clear views across the fields of both sunrise and sunset - but here, the sun is not lost, and I am marking, mentally, its new positions as the year wanes down to the time of rebirth... a Blessing in its self :) and more besides...
