In my line of business, I have discovered I need a laptop. And now I have one. Read more if you’d like a story while fudging around on the inter webs or not knowing what to do with yourself. Yep, happens to all of us. Smile beneath your eyelids and no I do not do audiobooks. I may, if someone gave me a really GREAT STORY!!! Here’s this one: (Still a lot of gold there, btw. Found some. Real gold. Paid for things with it. Still have more. History ended here, but not the geology.) The last one I had (a 2006 MacBook Pro 17” best of the best at the time) went through hell, and still lives. A truck run the hell over still working and still does. This was in Gold County, California and I had to burn a Hugo Boss suit to compliment my pay as one of three bartenders in the town of Bishop soon thereafter to just deal and live. That suit started to annoy me, many reasons why, and it was ready to burn. (Kept me warm for 2-3 entire months on this trip!!!!) Bought a replacement screen while living across the street in a motel from the computer repair and sell store. Great folk. Multiple spills, screen replacement, another drop, another screen crack, and still got that one. It is a powerful and easy to use kiosk now to a HD monitor. Runs great clamshell, albeit with a vasectomy: No connectivity, no trackpad, no ability to shut it down. It’s like Christine, and Apple wrote it not Stephen King. I have to force it to shut down. Its from 2006. Now, just bought a ‘new’ MacBook. Bought it for the portability and the ease of using new software developments and compatible-ness. It cost just over $300 And there was no annoying packaging. I HATE PACKAGING. Need a bag with those bananas? They are packaged quite well thank you. (Happened to me at the grocery store, with no eye contact, the other day. Just had 2 bananas. (I watch REI customers go from store to car and then chuck bags out into the street. Yep. Have seen it multiple of times. Why recycle what never needed to be made? Recycling program. Sweet!!!! But, necessary?) Box opened and it up and running in 5 minutes flat. I’m in business. No waste. So nice to open a box with all I need and not the garbage I do not need, that takes time to deal with (efficiency is gold thank you!, time is money), which never needed to be made in the first place. (Apple, the packaging is cute, but still kinda annoying, and wasteful. Where did I buy it from? Micro Center in Brentwood, Missouri). This is another charm. And finally have a laptop to help me out. Love it! The 2005 iMac is the most stable computer I have ever owned. It does serious business. Have been using macs since my first Apple IIc. Not an Apple ad, but a satisfied customer. Small business owner? Get yourself a mac. (And an Apple TV. Wow! 100 bucks! Have 3 now!) I have spent less than $6,000 in 20 years of computing with Apple and have had a pleasant experience. Plus I know how to fix shit. And now I like to play. Fun with Apple. This now is an Apple ad, but never was intended to be. Thank you Apple! -Gregory
