In my mind a Native Village in time Tepees and a flowing river Forest behind Laughter of the children Mothers gather and work Warriors on the hunt Buffalo on the plains Bald eagle flying high over the mountains Hand made flutes playing in the wind Long black braids shine in the summer light There skin all a glow Summer breeze blows The dance around the night fire Dressed in there beautiful attire Story tellers tells of the past Children hunker down in the long sweet grass Mothers with there papooses Men with there pipes Medicine man in the sweat lodge Hand crafted materials Bows an there arrows Pots made of clay Baked in the sun all day Life of simplicity Love abundance understanding of the mother Not took for granted Shared and cared for each other Written By Donna L Hughes
