In my opinion, all pastors in the North Texas Annual Conference need to have seen or see for the first time the movie Cold Comfort Farm. We watched it here in Howe as a part of our Fall Film Series. Almost every church we serve has its own version of "There always have been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm," and "I saw something nasty in the woodshed." Congregations, like all family systems, run the risk of getting stuck in a rut. Only a change agent can bring about transformation, and then only if the congregation in question is willing to embrace the process. It is a fun and funny movie to watch, and I recommend it highly. Be sure and "quiver" at the appropriate time.
