In my own experience and at may age now i realise that, Most of the time, when you sacrifice your time and energy and try and give too much to others , you are doing it to because its the right things to do and because you enjoy doing it. The problem is, the more you sacrifice, the more these people expect you to sacrifice at your own expense. They may even start to feel entitled to take advantage of your work and then they become the owners and the only thing that matters is their selfish interest. This happens because if you don’t value yourself, you are actually teaching the people in your life, not to value you, either. You are literally training them to take you for granted. I have learned now, may be a little bit too late, that in the process of sacrifice and teaching, we must focus more on teaching others to be less selfish and give back to others what we would give them.
