In my own view, the Planning commission of India which is being revamped as Niti Aayog , shouldnt just be used as another think tank but instead more or less as a bureau, in charge of policy advisory & creation, its execution & implementation as well as management. The bureau could have a top management board with a member from the civil service administration, the RBI, ministry of finance, an academic along with a seasoned but retired entrepreneur of repute. This bureau will come directly under the prime minister and should report to the prime minister on a quarterly basis, and also publish its report on an annual basis for the public. Any thoughts ?
