In my personal opinion, One must not leave friends, but just the same must learn not to chase them when they choose to leave for whatever reason... One may attempt to open up, to ask why, to do a closure, to patch things up, to ask (or even beg sometimes) to stay, to save it... One may give an extra mile and bend backwards if and when needed... Whatever it takes to keep the friendship... But if the so called friend or friends continue to shut you out, many countless times, why force the chase? There are many other good and real friends out there that one may know and have, including ones own family... More than the pride really, its the principle of self-respect... If I remember it right, even Christ did not force Himself on any of us... He would always approach, and knock from time to time, many times... But when the heart is hardened and closed, how can He enter? Just the same His doors are still open, just waiting for His friend to come back.
