In my prayer and quiet time before the Lord, I began to hear a soft and gentle voice in my heart that would say, come and follow me. At first I wasnt quite sure what to make of it and I would reply in like, yes, Lord. As I began to reflect on this I noticed that I had gone to church, had prayed the sinners prayer, had even sang HAVE THINE OWN WAY, LORD, pastored a church, volunteered to aid the needy, and given of my time and treasure, but did it still add up to following Jesus? When I thought that I had most assuredly worked the issue out, again when I least expected it, I would hear in my prayer time, come and follow me, come and walk with me. I wondered that if I was asked to demonstrate to a new believer just how to follow Jesus, would I actually be able to. What a truly humbling experience. It was then I decided to confess to the Lord that I really had no idea what it meant to follow HIM. At some time later, the Lord showed me Psalm 119 and I noticed how much it read of walking God and how He would instruct us on just how to accomplish this task and so I began listening to His instruction. I do not have it all figured out, nor am I ever likely too here in this present age, but I am making an attempt and will trust Jesus to hold my hand as I learn to walk with Him. Shalom.
