In my short time on this earth, I have experienced the bitter disappointment of hard work and commitment being returned with hurt. Ive wrestled with the confusion of challenging my own priorities, and braved the sense of loss when it was time to move on. And Im glad I saw those days, because without them, I may not have realized how good I have it now. In fact, Ive made peace with plenty of my own past, and have even become thankful for parts of my life that seemed to be needlessly painful because I can plainly see how these events have directly by cause and effect led me to my life now, where I am loved, respected and supported in a healthy relationship with the love of my life. John, Im so happy I held out for you. I used to think I was waiting, but even that discredits what has brought me here. I believe all along I was slowly becoming the person that was right for you, that I was learning to respect and love myself, developing a desire for a rich, full, healthy life and a beautiful person to share it with. This is what love is supposed to be. And I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for existing. I think I know a few people who can get behind that.
