In my small group weve been reading through the book of Esther, and as Ive also been reading through Ezekiel, this topic of beauty (Esther 2, Ezekiel 16.10-16) has been calling my attention. Proverbs 31.30 says that charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting. This video reminds me that standards of beauty can be deceptive and challenges me to adjust my mindset. An awareness of the unrealistic and destructive ideas regarding beauty/self-image can help to inform and reframe the ways in which I personally contribute toward perpetuating the cycle or breaking the pattern.
