In my two months as a teacher, I had the privilege to meet teachers who got skin infections from their students, went to jail fighting for their kids rights and suffered surgery for tuberculosis because of their job. I have the privilege of sharing lunch with teachers who lost their voice and would need to be operated to be able to sing again, suffer from allergic bronchitis and cannot leave home without an inhaler and fight breast cancer. In spite of all this they go back to school every single day, happily, without any complaints just to be there for their kids. And the tons of other little challenges they deal with every single day!!!! Teaching takes much much more than just being able to stand in front of a class and deliver a lesson. Proud to be a teacher!!!
