In my view this is good for Fairhaven for the same reasons that the folks on Newbury street in downtown Boston said no! Hell it took an act of congress to get a Dunkin Donuts in Marion and we welcomed a pot store with open arms? And according to the article I guess the Fairhaven group didnt pass comprehensive background checks and investigative reviews. The State DPH says that prior to opening, each must comply with all inspection and municipal requirements. You must ask the question how did this group get the votes, the permits, the green light locally? the State Department of Public Health says that the Fairhaven group wasnt considered one of the highest quality applicants. Did Fairhaven once again rush into a politically charged project only to deal with the consequences? Was the decision once again based on tax revenue and political pressure? The fact that Fairhaven saw this as an opportunity to generate tax revenue is even more disturbing. These centers will fold as soon as Massachusetts votes to legalize marijuana in 2016. The liberals put the plan in play some years ago with the decriminalization. I say legalize it, sell it in liquor stores and pharmacies, tax the living hell out of it and end the medicinal charade!
