In need of a good home. Zeus, an intact male Catahoula leopard. This is my baby, Ive had him since he was 4 months old and he is now 4 years old. A friend found him in a ditch, absolutely skin and bones and could not keep him so I took him in. He is a fantastic dog and well trained as long as he is around people. However, he has severe separation anxiety. Hes had it since I got him and Ive literally tried everything I can for him to get him past it but he just wont overcome it. We had bought a crate to use when we are gone and he had it ripped to shreds within a couple days. The store we bought it from said to bring it back if he destroyed it within 60 days and when we did they refused to take it back so I dont know what to do now. Hes destructive only when he gets left alone. I cannot keep him contained outdoors, whether it be a pen or a line and when he gets loose he takes off and will go for miles. Recently, he has picked up begging, jumping on my furniture and getting into the trash which Im so confused about because Ive never ever had those problems so I dont know why hes started doing them all of a sudden. Now, I am due to have my baby next month so I am having an extremely hard time keeping up with him much less anything else at the moment and Im afraid that there will just be no time for much when the baby gets here. I cannot worry about him getting loose or tearing something up or even running to the store without him destroying my home because hes left alone. The only place hes okay to be alone is in my car but I cant just throw him in there every time I need to do something so I am asking for help. This dog has been through everything with me including surviving my house fire in which the house was a total loss. He was the first to eat when I could not even feed myself so getting rid of him is not something Im taking lightly and I would only want the best for him, not just anyone, especially if they dont understand the effort he needs to be put into him. Please, he needs a good home.
