In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, children from the A.D. Lewis Community and Fairfield East community centers will write their dreams on the boarded-up portions of a dilapidated home at 10 a.m. Mon, Jan. 19. The home, referred to as the Dream House, is a Land Bank property owned by the Huntington Urban Renewal Authority and is located at 1355 Charleston Ave. The event will begin with a welcome from HURA Land Bank Administrator Christal Perry, followed by an excerpt of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech read by children from the community centers. Mayor Steve Williams will then address the children and attendees. Refreshments will be served.
