In occupied Kashmir, various leaders, parties and organisations have strongly condemned the killing of an innocent youth, Farhat Ahmad Dar, by Indian police in Naidkhai area of Bandipora district. According to Media sources, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under house arrest, in a statement termed the cold-blooded murder of the youth as an open display of state terrorism. “It has become a routine that after killing innocent Kashmiris, curfew is imposed across the Valley by the authorities to prevent people from protesting against this open aggression. Hurriyet leaders are placed under house arrest or in jails to stop them from sharing the grief and expressing solidarity with the believed families,” he deplored. The Mirwaiz said that as a cover up to these shameful and inhuman acts, probes and commissions were set up by these indifferent and oppressive authorities which were of no avail. He expressed solidarity with the family of the martyred youth and demanded stern action against the police personnel involved in the killing. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is also under house arrest, in a statement termed the killing as a cold-blooded murder by the police. He paid glowing tributes to the martyred youth and announced that the JKLF would organize a peaceful protest rally and sit-in at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Monday against the killing and injuring of many others in the firing at Naidkhai. “Once again the armed forces and police have shown their beastly instinct of killing humans and on the other hand pro-India politicians and rulers have started their drama of condemnations and ordering probes,” he added. Yasin Malik also denounced the imposition of curfew and restrictions by the authorities. The spokesman of the forum patronized by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, describing the killing as fresh example of state terrorism demanded an impartial probe into the incident and exemplary punishment to the murderers. He said that Indian troops and police were killing Kashmiri youth in a planned way and Omar-led puppet regime had broken all the past records of genocides. He condemned the imposition of curfew in various areas of Kashmir and detention and house arrest of pro-freedom leaders. The Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, in her statement said that the killing of Farhat Ahmad was the height of brutalities inflicted upon Kashmiris by New Delhi. “It is ironical that after firing upon chest of the youth, the police claim that its personnel opened fire in air. Last year, police had projected the same theory after murdering Tahir Sofi of Baramulla,” she stated. The APHC leaders including Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Zafar Akbar Butt, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Javed Ahmad Mir, Yasmeen Raja and Hillal Ahmad War, denouncing the killing said that Indian would not succeed in suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation movement through such tactics. They also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and demanded an impartial probe into the incident. The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Zamrooda Habib, while expressing sympathy with the martyred youth appealed to the world community to compel India to strops state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions. Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R Chief Patron, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, and Chairman, Farooq Ahmad Dar, in their joint statement said, “The armed forces in Kashmir are now in the state of frustration and anger against the Kashmiri youth, who refuse to accept their supremacy. The Kashmiri youth are the main targets now and we are seeing that they are killing our youth ruthlessly.” The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, condemning the killing, said that the state repression was a continued campaign in occupied Kashmir and trigger-happy Indian forces were shedding the blood of innocent people as a matter of state policy to subjugate the people. He appealed to the international community to take cognizance of these killings and impress upon India to stop its policy of genocide in occupied Kashmir. The spokesman of Islamic Political Party Jammu and Kashmir denounced the murder of Farhat Ahmed Dar, arrest of Hurriyet leaders including the party Chairman, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and impostion of curfew and other restrictions in the occupied territory by the puppet authorities. President of Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK), Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan, while condemning the killing, termed it a barbaric act by the police. “This is a cold-blooded murder. Shooting at chest with intent to kill is brutal. This is a police state and police state is a lawless state,” he added. Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) in its statement condemned the killing and imposition of curfew and other restrictions in the territory. It rejected the so-called probe ordered by the puppet administration into the incident. On the other hand, Kashmiri leader, Sajjad Ghani Lone, denouncing the murder of Farhat Ahmed Dar said that probes ordered into such incidents were mere an eyewash to shield the guilty.
