In one of my earlier posts, I stated that Im a Science nut. After all, that was what got me interested in the To Aru series. But that wasnt the only anime that has taken my interest using Science as a means of getting the hold of me. And that show is called Steins;Gate. And after all this time I finally got to witness it myself. Watching this show is a lot like a roller coaster ride. It has its ups and downs and then it takes a big dive in the middle of it all that gets you hyped up and excited; bringing your very blood to a boil. Now as stated earlier, I watched the show because I was in it for the Science. Its amazing how well this show handles the principles of time travel. And the research work is not only limited to actual time travel theories such as the String Theory and the Butterfly Effect theory, but also subculture references ranging from actual plot elements like John Titor, to references to Portal (see if you can find it. Hint: not everyone speaks the same language). However its greatest strength is its greatest weakness. If you can follow all the exposition with no problem, well good on you. However, some details may be needed to be re-glanced over like the details leading to the final episode. Well, Episode 24 to be exact... Speaking of which, it may differ between listings, but dont forget to double check. If an episode titled Egoistic Poriomania is first on a list, DONT watch it first. Leave that for last. Trust me. Needless to say, I was not short of disappointed. I came for the Science, but stayed for the drama. Steins;Gate Ranking: Recommendation Status: APPROVE Worth: Your Disk Space BONUS AWARD: Source Media Recommendation Steins;Gate is based on a Visual Novel. If you can miraculously track it down, give it a shot whenever you feel like it. Lets see how youll use the power of Reading Steiner. El. Psy. Congroo.
