In one of those moments of indiscipline when I have allowed myself to indulge in reverie about the ideal law curriculum,I have even been tempted to think thay the entire first year might be given over to five different courses,each devoted to intensive study of the anatomy and physiology of a different one of laws basic techniQrs. Actually in some law schools this would be less of a radical innovation. Some law schools already hav a first yr course dealng with the elements of administrative regulation under d rubric of public law. Their.contracts course cd b generalised to treat cognate forms of priva arrangements and torts to treat the elements of the grievance_ remedial technique. This leaves the penal mode,wc cd b appeoached thru criminal law,already a first yr course in most campuses. Ofcourse some more restructuring wd b necessary in order to capitalise on the distinctive potentialities of a technique oriented program.e.g;procedure lecturers wd nt want to c their courses interstitiallyw worked into others. Yey this wd hav to b done. The concept of procedure wd also have to expand to accommodate procedures other than the penal and grievance remedial
