In one week Ive heard from three young women from East Africa how much they worry for their brothers safety, especially if they ever encounter police. One told me that her 17 year old brother was pulled over for speeding, but got scared when the officer approached his window with his gun drawn and sped away, fearful for his life. Backup was called and he spend a few days in jail, but maybe that was actually safer for him than an interaction with that initial police officer. Even if you know your rights, its almost impossible to withstand the demands of police officers and eventually they will usually wear you down as in this video. This one got me crying...guess it was knowing they had such a young child in the back seat.
