In order to get a sense of how financially successful this summers Godzilla might be, lets put on our math caps for a second: If we look at Pacific Rims 400 million dollar gross as a gauge for the inherent interest in giant monster movies, multiply that by a reasonable 1.2 for Godzillas name brand appeal, compare it to Godzillas reported budget of 160 million, and assume the film doesnt completely bomb with critics, then we see that Godzilla should have no problem making at least 480 million world wide, which, at three times its budget, will be a practical (if not necessarily on the books) success.
