In order to make sense of whats around us we look for patterns in the disorder. We see patterns and regularity in every aspect of life, be it universal patterns such as the uniformity of chemical reaction rates in controlled conditions to the changing of the seasons, to the more individualistic phenomenon such as interpersonal attraction based on an individuals taste. Patterns give us great comfort. We can use them as tools to predict future events based on the results of the events of the past. As humans we are governed by the one great equaliser, the primary pattern - time. Earlier on in the year we committed our interpretations of patterns to record and we offer the digital version to you now for free as a way of marking the end of the annual pattern, the year we arbitrarily call 2014.
