In order to meet the intensification of the angelic conflict in the Church Age, called the better things. God has supplemented the faith-rest technique of the Old Testament believers with additional provisions, called the better things. In this intensified period, better things come from Bible doctrine. Since people need Bible doctrine to understand the better things, God has removed everything that would obscure its importance. He has canceled the gift of miracles, healing, and tongues. These temporary spiritual gifts have not been needed since A.D. 70. God also took every emotional and distracting system of ritual and removed it. Ritual in the Church Age is limited to baptism and communion. Why? Because we now have everything in writing; the canon of Scripture was completed in A.D.96. The Bible is your Christmas gift! Every time you open it, you unwrap a package from God. And He has provided these BETTER THINGS on a daily basis. He does not say, Wait till Christmas. God says. Every day you live on this earth is Christmas and I have provided for you every day!
