In order to minimize Mobile phone related crimes the Addl: IGP Karachi Mr. Ghulam Qadir Thebo issued orders to all SDPOs/SHOs to identify all such mobile phone shops/places where trade of stolen/snatched cell phones is ongoing in order to crack down as and when necessary. such operations are expected only after collecting sufficient evidence/proofs. He has further asked concerned officers to coordinate with market associations to bar such illegal trade. Karachi Police thinks that all stolen or snatched phones are sold/purchased in Karachi only which is providing opportunities to easily trade the crime property. Mr. Thebo wants Karachi Police to pay more attention in stopping the street crimes using all resources. Monitoring of such shops/places used for snatched property trade and action against responsibles is just a part of our efforts. Besides blocking for SIM cards and registration, it is further desired that all shop keepers record the purchase/sell of mobile phones.
