In our 12 Week Challenge we suggest modifying your carb consumption rather than going entirely low carb. Why do we do this? Its important to create a carbohydrate deficit in order to begin the weight-loss process. When we remove carbs completely, this can slow our metabolism and make us suffer with severe sugar cravings. Keeping carbs like fruit, grains, legumes and potato for our post workout meals means we use the sugars to replenish muscle and liver glucose stores while also maintain a healthy metabolism and reducing body fat levels. This is a much healthier way to manage weight loss without slowing and damaging a healthy metabolism. Avoid very low calorie diets for prolonged periods of time, they are a sure fire way to damage a healthy metabolism and prevent you from losing weight in the future. Mel
