In our errand running yesterday my son asked me to take him to the bank. I chuckled and asked why to which he responded I need to make a deposit. Again I laughed and asked what he was going to deposit. He told me hed been saving some of his lunch money and wanted to deposit it. I stopped laughing. Silence came over the car as I reflected and just silently thanked God that he is getting the concept of putting money away early. Ive never used an ATM to deposit cash. I asked why dont you take it to the window to which he replied the account I have charges me for making window transactions. Yesterday, together we learned how to deposit cash into his account at the ATM. He checked his balance and was surprised at how his money was growing. He said had he known he would have purchased his own homecoming ticket. I informed him that was my job. Ill take care of those kinds of things for him and he can save his for an occasional movie. It was a memorable moment that I still havent stopped thinking about. Sorry this is so long. I just had to share my proud moment. Fathers become dads and get involved in your kids lives.
