In our long trip to Missouri from California, I am forever grateful to Sylvia and Philip for helping me drive the U-Haul truck. Philip was still an inexperienced long-haul driver at that time so everytime we had to park in a motel for the night, I had to take over. Sylvia relieved me in my driving when we were negotiating a straight road but I had to prop her up with a telephone book so she, being a diminutive lady, could see the road ahead when seating on the drivers seat. So you see, the three of us experienced an adventure in life that involved living in a new place where we were faced with a lot of unknowns. Will the two of them find good jobs? Is Missouri a friendly and beautfiul place to settle in? Are we goinng to find nice people to befriend? One disappoint we experienced was we couldnt find Filipino restaurants to satisfy our craving for authentic Pinoy food.
